How do I export the Windows Event Log?

To export the Windows Event Logs please follow the steps below. We will need the Application and System logs. This procedure is for Windows 7. Other versions of Windows may vary slightly.

Exporting Windows Event Log

Run Windows Event Viewer

  • Hit Start and type eventvwr.msc

Application Log

  • Expand Windows Logs.
  • Select Application.
  • Select Action->Save All Events As…

System Log

  • Select System from the Windows Logs.
  • Select Action->Save All Events As…
